There's one question I've been asked hundred of times over the years since I started Peau de Loup in 2012 - where are the suits!?
It's an item we've dreamed of releasing since we first launched our company seven years ago. This dream partially came to fruition in 2015 when we became the first company to dress an entire women’s national team on the soccer pitch in a suit. We heard the demand, we imagined the look. For various reasons we weren’t ready to launch; big dreams take time to come true. After years of hard work behind the scenes - countless samples, edits, fittings - we are proud to (finally) launch PDL's Founders Suit.
I always wanted a suit to let me be myself, but I could never find the perfect one. There was always a catch. I found suits with a great fit, but no pockets. Suits with pockets, but the fabric was a horrible polyester material. The list goes on. I always knew what I wanted but I could never find it. Frustrated but not defeated, it’s finally here.
The Founders Suit is predominantly made with cotton for breathability and 2% spandex to allow fluid movement. The inside is different than most jackets. Rather than lining the jacket, we bound each seam. We didn't make a magic one-size-fits-all jacket. Instead, we made an easy seam system so your tailor can quickly fit the suit to your needs without breaking the bank. The trouser is made to accommodate your hips, the legs are tapered and cropped because who doesn’t love a cropped pant with an Oxford?
I mentioned pockets earlier, so of course, we had to include proper pockets! The jacket has two patch pockets and the trousers have four pockets total - two slash pockets on each side and two on the back. How do you like them pockets?
We think it's classy enough to wear to a business meeting yet casual enough to dress with jeans to your next night out. We kept our PDL branding off to the side to let you star in your own suit. We made sure the fabric we used is up-cycled, just like our much-loved button shirts. Keep in mind that using up-cycled fabric means our supply is inherently limited. We only have a few of each colour, so get them while they're here!
We sure hope you love our new suits as much as we do! Tag us and let us know all the places you and your Peau de Loup go.
P.S. We started this little company with a lot of love and a whole bunch of helping hands.(too many to name in this collection) so I named this collection after the crew that has made this entire venture possible.

Fit is incredibly personal - some like their shirts to fit snugly around their body while others prefer to wear them looser. We've provided a number of fit charts below to help you find your fit. Note that there are some variations in the way different fabrics will hang on your body, and some shirts will fit more snugly than others. We recommend always sizing up in flannel.
If you're at the top 1 - 1.5 inches of the bust range, you will likely have to release the box pleat.
Below are the flatlay measurement charts for our Alpha shirts. We have shown our measurements taken from lying the garment flat and measuring in inches. We recommend grabbing a shirt you own in similar fabric and comparing!
In between sizes? Go for the smaller one - there’s a pleat in the back of every PDL shirt that you can remove with a seam ripper - this will give an extra 1½ inches in the chest to prevent button-gape.
One of PDL's foundational values is to create classic products. That’s why we have a suite of standard styles that we make in an assortment of fabrics. Once you know your fit in a particular style, you’ll be ready to snap it up when a limited edition upcycled fabric you love pops into our collection!
We've photographed a variety of styles on a few different bodies so you can get an idea of how our shirts might look on you. If your questions aren't answered here, please get in touch with us for personalized fit advice.
The PDL classic Alpha fit. A box pleat half-sewn down in the back for easy size adjustments, a collar that buttons down at the lapels, and our signature inside pocket. CAR COAT & WALKING JACKET
Our size 4 model is 5'9", with a 34" bust, 25" waist, and 32" hips.
Our size 8 model is 5'9", with a 36.5" bust, 30.5" waist, and 42" hips.
Our size 16 model is 5'10".
The box pleat at the back of PDL shirts allows for a bit of flexibility in sizing. Note: collarless shirts do not have their pleat sewn down by default.
If your shirt fits in the shoulders and arms but is a little snug through the bust, you can remove the pleat to gain an extra inch and a half in that area. Kindly note that shirts with the pleat removed are no longer eligible for exchange or refund.
To remove the pleat, you will need a seam ripper. This little tool comes with most sewing machines and sewing kits. Watch the video below to see how it's done:
If the shirt is too roomy around the hips, you can also extend the pleat to take the shirt in by 1 - 1.5inches from the waist down. This is a pretty simple sewing job if you have the skills. You'll need a sewing machine and an iron. Kindly note that all modified shirts are ineligible for return/exchange.
