We teamed up with BOI BAND (IG: @queerboiband), an LA-based all queer pop vocal band. BOI BAND is comprised of talented singers of various sexual orientations and gender identities, representing the beauty and diversity of the queer community.
This Cheetah print button-up is the perfect shirt to wear to the beach or out on the town for fun summer nights!
Coda, one of the bois whom this shirt is named for had this to say about queer fashion:
My whole life I never felt like I fit in. Being a queer person in a black female temple, born and raised in America’s heteronormative, cis-white male-dominated world, my spaces to fully express who I truly am are very limited. Shopping for me at one point was a type of therapy, and an outlet for me to present myself how I wanted others to view me.
In no setting am I “too queer/black/feminine/ masculine”, but in every setting, you have to know your environment and put on the proper armor. I have gone through many years of life figuring out which pieces of armour help me move through this experience most effectively, and it’s usually a feat trying to find the right pieces and put them together.
Being able to have the same convenience as fully masculine and feminine presenting consumers to shop for all of my pieces in one place is something that I thought for a long time would only be a great idea and maybe after my lifetime would actually be.
Size and Fit:
Coda is wearing a size 4 button-down.

Fit is incredibly personal - some like their shirts to fit snugly around their body while others prefer to wear them looser. We've provided a number of fit charts below to help you find your fit. Note that there are some variations in the way different fabrics will hang on your body, and some shirts will fit more snugly than others. We recommend always sizing up in flannel.
If you're at the top 1 - 1.5 inches of the bust range, you will likely have to release the box pleat.
Below are the flatlay measurement charts for our Alpha shirts. We have shown our measurements taken from lying the garment flat and measuring in inches. We recommend grabbing a shirt you own in similar fabric and comparing!
In between sizes? Go for the smaller one - there’s a pleat in the back of every PDL shirt that you can remove with a seam ripper - this will give an extra 1½ inches in the chest to prevent button-gape.
One of PDL's foundational values is to create classic products. That’s why we have a suite of standard styles that we make in an assortment of fabrics. Once you know your fit in a particular style, you’ll be ready to snap it up when a limited edition upcycled fabric you love pops into our collection!
We've photographed a variety of styles on a few different bodies so you can get an idea of how our shirts might look on you. If your questions aren't answered here, please get in touch with us for personalized fit advice.

Our size 4 model is 5'9", with a 34" bust, 25" waist, and 32" hips.
Our size 8 model is 5'9", with a 36.5" bust, 30.5" waist, and 42" hips.
Our size 16 model is 5'10".
The box pleat at the back of PDL shirts allows for a bit of flexibility in sizing. Note: collarless shirts do not have their pleat sewn down by default.
If your shirt fits in the shoulders and arms but is a little snug through the bust, you can remove the pleat to gain an extra inch and a half in that area. Kindly note that shirts with the pleat removed are no longer eligible for exchange or refund.
To remove the pleat, you will need a seam ripper. This little tool comes with most sewing machines and sewing kits. Watch the video below to see how it's done:
If the shirt is too roomy around the hips, you can also extend the pleat to take the shirt in by 1 - 1.5inches from the waist down. This is a pretty simple sewing job if you have the skills. You'll need a sewing machine and an iron. Kindly note that all modified shirts are ineligible for return/exchange.
